New Life offers free parking at a lot on the corner of Division and Western where you will be greeted and directed by our friendly Parking Ministry staff. Upon entering the lobby of the building you will be greeted by our Welcoming Committee and directed towards the sanctuary. Coming into the sanctuary our helpful Ushers will greet you and guide you and answer any questions you may have. If you have children from birth to the fifth grade, we have age-appropriate rooms in both the lower level and on the 2nd floor where you can check them in to enjoy the “Chicago Lights” children’s program.
If you have any questions after the service, we invite you to join Pastor De Jesús in the lobby under the big blue tent. You’ll get an opportunity to meet the pastor and enjoy some light refreshments.
Also in the lobby you can browse through our ministry booths offering information regarding the ministries and their upcoming events.
Where do I take my children? New Born through Kindergarten:
New Born through Kindergarten:On Sundays, any usher or greeter can direct you to the age-appropriate area for your children. We have several areas that are designated for newborns through kindergarten. You will find separate areas for the Little Lambs (nursery ages 0-1) and the Little Lights (toddlers ages 2-3). There are many good things happening in these age groups. Every month the children learn a different lesson on how God is connected to their lives. No child is too young to learn that they are wonderfully made by God and that Jesus loves them. You will also find the High 5 4 Jesus classroom for kids that are in preschool and kindergarten (starting at 4 years) Learning the love of Jesus through crafts, stories and hands on play time. On Sundays, parents are encouraged to arrive 10-15 minutes early so that you have plenty of time to sign-in your children.
1st through 5th Graders: Our Kidz Church services (tailored just for boys and girls in 1st thru 5th grades) are also held on Sundays at Clemente. Simply ask an usher or greeter for the correct location. Kidz Church services are held during our 11:00am and 12:45pm. Children really love the hand motions during worship, illustrated sermons, videos, puppets, clowns, missionary stories, and food lessons. Boys and girls will laugh, sing, praise, and ultimately have a blast experiencing a personal relationship with God. Kids have such a great time that it keeps families coming back.
What do you offer for Junior High and High School?
Our Driven 6.7.8 ministry is geared for youth that are 6th – 8th graders preparing them for the challenges they will face in high school.
The High School ministry of NLC is called Driven Youth and they meet along with Driven
6.7.8 on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. at Clemente High School at 1147 N. Western Avenue. There
are over 30 ministries for youth to come and get involved with.
Rev. Ignacio Marrero and a small group of brothers and sisters back in May 1965. Brother Marrero along with his family, began working with other families and birthed “Palestine Christian Temple”. They met in their own homes and after a few weeks, they rented a storefront and after much growth, in 1976 purchased what we now know as the “Mother Church Campus” located at 1665 N. Mozart Street in the heart of Humboldt Park, Chicago.
In July 2000, the torch was passed down to Rev. Wilfredo De Jesús, whom has had the privilege to work in the ministry and lead this church in “the way” from that date to the present.
For 35 years, Rev. Ignacio Marrero worked to do what the Lord expected for him and for this
congregation, and with that a chapter came to an end. But at the same time a new chapter
began for “PALESTINE CHRISTIAN TEMPLE”. As part of that new chapter a new name was
adopted “NEW LIFE COVENANT”, which is the name that now identifies our congregation.

What should I wear?
At New Life Covenant, we focus on the heart more than the outward appearance. When you come to one of our services, you will find people dressed in a wide variety of styles from as casual as jeans, to as formal as suits and dresses. However, most people find themselves somewhere in the middle--most often wearing business casual.
We do ask that people wear clothing that does not draw attention to themselves. We think
that what you wear to church should not detract from the worship experience of others
around you. We want all of the attention to go to Jesus Christ.
