What should I expect the first time I visit NLC?
New Life offers free parking at a lot on the corner of Division and Western where you will be greeted and directed by our friendly Parking Ministry staff. Upon entering the lobby of the building you will be greeted by our Welcoming Committee and directed towards the sanctuary. Coming into the sanctuary our helpful Ushers will greet you and guide you and answer any questions you may have. If you have children from birth to the fifth grade, we have age-appropriate rooms in both the lower level and on the 2nd floor where you can check them in to enjoy the “Chicago Lights” children’s program.
If you have any questions after the service, we invite you to join Pastor De Jesús in the lobby under the big blue tent. You’ll get an opportunity to meet the pastor and enjoy some light refreshments.
Also in the lobby you can browse through our ministry booths offering information regarding the ministries and their upcoming events.
Where do I take my children?
On Sundays, any usher or greeter can direct you to the age-appropriate area
for your children.
On the 2nd floor, several areas are designated for newborns through kindergarten. You will find the Little Lambs Nursery (ages 0-1) and the Little Lights area for toddlers (ages 2-3). There are many good things happening in this age groups. Every month the children learn a different lesson on how God is connected to their lives. No child is too young to learn that they are wonderfully made by God and that Jesus loves them. You will also find the High 5 4 Jesus classroom for kids ages 4-5. Learning the love of Jesus through crafts, stories and hands on play time.
In the lower level, you will find Kidz Church which is tailored just for kids in 1st through 5th grade. Children really love the illustrated sermons, videos, clowns, and puppets. Boys and girls will laugh, sing, praise, and ultimately have a blast experiencing a personal relationship with God. Kids have such a great time that it keeps families coming back.
On Sundays, parents are encouraged to arrive 10-15 minutes early so that you have plenty of time to sign-in your children.
What do you offer for Junior High and High School?

How did New Life Covenant get started?
Rev. Ignacio Marrero and a small group of brothers and sisters back in May 1965. Brother Marrero along with his family, began working with other families and birthed “Palestine Christian Temple”. They met in their own homes and after a few weeks, they rented a storefront and after much growth, in 1976 purchased what we now know as the “Mother Church Campus” located at 1665 N. Mozart Street in the heart of Humboldt Park, Chicago.
In July 2000, the torch was passed down to Rev. Wilfredo De Jesús, whom has had the privilege to work in the ministry and lead this church in “the way” from that date to the present.
For 35 years, Rev. Ignacio Marrero worked to do what the Lord expected for him and for this
congregation, and with that a chapter came to an end. But at the same time a new chapter
began for “PALESTINE CHRISTIAN TEMPLE”. As part of that new chapter a new name was
adopted “NEW LIFE COVENANT”, which is the name that now identifies our congregation.

What should I wear?
At New Life Covenant, we focus on the heart more than the outward appearance. When you come to one of our services, you will find people dressed in a wide variety of styles from as casual as jeans, to as formal as suits and dresses. However, most people find themselves somewhere in the middle--most often wearing business casual.
We do ask that people wear clothing that does not draw attention to themselves. We think
that what you wear to church should not detract from the worship experience of others
around you. We want all of the attention to go to Jesus Christ.
